Real hair wigs are attractive for many reasons. They are, after all, considered more realistic than synthetic hair ones, as well as more comfortable and natural. However, this comes at a price: you’ll really need to take care of them. Here are some tips on how to best take care of wigs
made from real hair so that yours is as durable as it should be.

Washing Real Hair Wigs
Washing your wigs will be very important,

First, be sure to gently remove any tangles in the wig with either your fingers or a wide-tooth comb. Start at the ends and then slowly work toward the roots in order to avoid any damage. Once you’re done, don’t brush it.
Don’t soak the wig. Instead, rinse it by holding the hair under cool running water, allowing it to run from the roots all the way to the ends.
Pour a small amount of shampoo for color-treated hair on your hand and evenly stroke it through the hair in a gentle downwards motion, once again making sure to go from the roots to the ends.
Once again rinse the wig by holding it under running cool water until the water runs clear of any soap. Then gently squeeze the hair to press out any excess water without twisting or wringing it.
Conditioning Your Wig
Pour a small amount of conditioner on your hand, once again making sure it’s for color-treated hair, and evenly work it through the hair in a downwards motion. To keep the wig from shedding, avoid the base and roots of the wig, though, making sure you go from the mid-shaft all the way to the ends.
Leave the conditioner on for one to two minutes; never do more than three to five, depending on the conditioner’s instructions.
Rinse the wig by holding it under cool water until it runs clear. Press out the excess water by either gently squeezing the hair or by using a clean, dry towel. Never twist or wring it.
Lastly, place the wet wig on a stand until it’s completely dry.
Styling
The best take care of wigs will obviously depend on what you want them to look like. Since they are made out of real hair, you will be able to style them very similar to how you would actual hair. However, you still have to be careful with it. Here are the basics:

To curl the wig, wrap the hair around a curling iron, hold it for ten seconds, and release it.
To straighten the wig, take a one-inch section, starting at the roots, and then run a flat iron all the way to the ends of the hair.
If you wish to, you can use some hairspray on the final product to help it remain styled.
